This is a super simple salsa recipe. We found this on the Midwest Foodie Blog and only made a few adjustments to the spice level and how the instructions were written. Works well with just tortilla chips or as part of a meal.
Salsa
Ingredients
- 30 oz Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes
- ½ Red Onion
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 1 Jalapeño
- 1 c Cilantro Leaves
- 2 Limes
- 1 tsp Cumin
- ¼ tsp Cayenne
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
- Roughly chop the red onion.
- Cut the jalapeño in half, remove the seeds and the spine from inside the pepper.
- Squeeze limes, keep juice and discard rest.
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until pureed.
- Adjust the spices as needed.
Notes
- This will make a mild salsa, if you are wanting more heat you can leave in part of the jalapeño spine and seeds.
- It is important to not under spice, if you are worried about adding too much spice add a little at a time, you can always add more and blend for a few more seconds.
