Buttermilk Cheddar Biscuits

We found these buttermilk cheddar biscuits on Little Spice Jar.  We left the recipe as is but re-worked the instructions slightly.  These work great as a quick and easy dinner biscuit.

Buttermilk Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 c Flour
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Powdered Milk
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder divided
  • 2 tbsp Parsley divided
  • 12 tbsp Butter divided
  • 1 c Buttermilk
  • 2 c Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • In a bowl combine flour, salt, sugar, powdered milk, baking powder, 1 ½ tsp garlic powder, and 1 tbsp parsley.
  • Melt 8 tbsp of butter. Add the melted butter and buttermilk to the flour mixture and combine with a spatula.
  • Add the cheese and fold into the dough.
  • Create 12 equally sized dough balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown on top.
  • While baking melt 4 tbsp of butter.
  • Add ½ tsp of garlic powder and a tbsp of parsley to the melted butter. Stir to combine.
  • Brush the butter mixture on top of the biscuits when they come out of the oven.
