Bourbon Slush

Tim’s mom used to make bourbon slush every year for her Christmas party, but they have become more of a staple at any time of the year.  They are fun to take to parties especially for those who have never had them before.

Ingredients

  • 8 Black Tea Bags
  • 1 c Cane Sugar
  • 1 ½ c Bourbon (Jim Beam or similar)
  • 12 oz Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate
  • 12 oz Frozen Lemonade Concentrate
  • 9 c Water

Instructions

  • Bring 2 cups of water and sugar to a boil and stir until all sugar is dissolved.
  • Add tea bags to hot water and let steep for about 5 minutes. Squeeze excess liquid from tea bags once complete.
  • Add remaining water, juice and bourbon and stir well.
  • Place in freezer until the mixture has frozen through, at least 24 hours.
  • Use an ice cream scoop or spoon and scrape the top to create small ice shavings. Serve in a glass.

Notes

  • Feel free to add a little extra bourbon either before freezing or when serving.
  • No need to stir the mixture while it is in the freezer.
