Gooey Buns (Tuna, Egg, Cheese Blend)

Gooey Buns

Gooey Buns are recipe Craig’s mom used to make while growing up. Only recent modification is more eggs and salt and pepper.

Ingredients

  • 6 Large Eggs
  • 5 oz Canned Tuna
  • 2/3 c Miracle Whip
  • 4 tbsp Relish
  • 2 1/2 c Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 dash Salt
  • 1 dash Pepper
  • 8 Hot Dog Buns
  • 2 Green Onion (optional)
  • 8 Cherry Tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Hard Boil the eggs.
  • Peel and chop the hard boiled eggs.
  • Drain and add the tuna to the eggs.
  • Mix the egg and tuna mixture with the Miracle Whip, relish, cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Divide the mixture evenly into the hot dog buns.
  • Place four filled buns on a sheet of aluminum foil and using another piece of aluminum foil cover and fold the ends together. Repeat with the remaining four buns.
  • Bake in oven for 30 minutes.
  • Chop the green onions and tomatoes. When the buns are finished baking add the onions and tomatoes to the top and serve.

Notes

  • Either solid white or chunk light tuna in water works best.
