This is an easy way to make homemade croutons and can be added to any salad. These will be a little softer than traditional store bought and have a great flavor.
Croutons
Ingredients
- 2 c Fresh Italian Bread (Frozen)
- 3 tbsp Extra Vigin Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Butter or Margarine
- 1 tsp Paprika (sweet)
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Oregeno
Instructions
- Cut bread into bite sized cubes
- Mix bread cubes with seasonings
- In a heated skillet, melt butter or margarine. Add the bread pieces. Sautee until fully incorporated into bread pieces.
- Add olive oil a little at a time while continuing to mix with the bread. Continue to add more olive oil a little bit at a time to ensure bread is frying and not toasting.
- Continue sauteeing the bread cubes until lightly browned. Be sure to continuously stir and turn cubes so that they do not burn.
